Pool Side by Greenside

Greg Nunn1.JPG

Pool landscaping is probably my favorite aspect of landscaping. Although most of our work is in the Melbourne bayside area and close to the beach, pools are becoming more and more popular. This particular project for the client was part of a major house renovation as well and both the client and Greenside were stoked on how well it turned out.

The client in this case will be doing the planting themselves and I can’t wait to see how the addition of lush green foliage softens the area and really finishes it off. I will update with photos after the planting is completed.

Why Don’t We Have A Barby!

If you haven’t used those words already this summer then no doubt it will be something you say in the next few weeks. The mild Melbourne summer nights are the perfect time for entertaining and why not do it with style. Above is a casual outdoor BBQ area where you can have a few beers and talk about the recent 5/nil Ashes victory, only metres from the more formal decked sitting area.

The posts are Cypress Pine from Lifetime Pine which have been oiled and the roof is 190mm primed which has been painted in Colorbond Monument to match the fascia and gutters on the house. The benches are all covered with Spotted Gum and oiled with a natural decking oil. The Tinted U.V. roofing will keep the area dry and the water run off will be re-directed to feed existing garden beds. In this case the fence is old and weathered so Outdeco privacy screens have been used to block out the fence. The floor has been finished with Bluestone pavers from Granite Works.

This type of thing can be fully custom built with many options. These may include…Custom stone bench tops, lift up seats for hidden storage, solid rendered walls to block out weather or screen out fences or neighbours. Why not include a space for a fridge. If this type of thing would be a good addition to you back yard then please feel free to contact us.

A simple way to build a privacy screen

Just before Christmas Greenside were asked to build a privacy screen on an upstairs deck with a few functions in mind. Firstly, and most importantly was to provide some privacy from people passing by, and secondly to block out the view of passing trains. We decided to use Outdeco panels along the main section of the deck to a height of 2m. We kept the left end clear to maintain the view of the city and the upcoming New Years Eve fireworks display.

To cut a long story short, we got the job done over 1 day and the NYE party was apparently one to remember! Slabs of Corona were drunk and numerous bottles of red wine polished off. Guests were wrapped with the screen and it provided all the privacy it was intended for. If this is something you may be interested in then please CLICK HERE to send us an inquiry.

Janice was nice enough to send me a testimonial…

I recently moved into my new place and needed some privacy screening for my upstairs decking.  Brendan was incredibly helpful during the quoting process, giving me a range of options.  Throughout the job, he kept me well informed and was always punctual.  He completed the work within the time frame I required and to an excellent standard.  Brendan has a friendly yet professional manner and was a pleasure to deal with. He even found time to fix some decking boards that needed replacing.   I would highly recommend Brendan for any landscaping services.
